Numerical Study on Mechanical Characteristic of Hydraulic Tunnel Across Fault Zone

In the process of excavation hydraulic tunnels across fault zone, surrounding rock often lose steady and collapse, which will threaten personal security. this paper, a 3D model was established according to Hami pumped storage power station in Xinjiang. The variation stress, deformation plastic zone under condition full section without support timely after are compares analysis. calculated results indicate that initial ground stress decreases along axis tunnel zone. case support, be released completely. maximum vault is located left affected excavation, partially retained. much smaller than upper part basically has no failure.
